However, her life took a beautiful turn when she fell in love with the prolific screenwriter of his time, Salim Khan. But their relationship had seen a lot of difficulties and hate as Salim Khan was already married to Salma Khan and had four children. Recently, Helen recalled how difficult it was for Salim Khan’s first wife, Salma to go through that phase.

Recently, Helen was interviewed by her stepson, Arbaaz Khan for his show, The Invincible. The legendary diva talked about her marriage with already-married Salim Khan and recalled how it was super tough for Salma Khan. Helen shares a warm bond with Salim Khan and has made her own place in the hearts of his entire family.

Helen recalled how she fell in love with Salim. She shared that he had given her a role in his film, and they soon became friends. She added how Salma was super nice to her and had gone through a tough time. She was quoted as saying:

“He (Salim) assigned me a part (in a film). We grew close, and your mother was lovely. It must have been difficult for her at the time; she must have experienced a lot. I believe that all of you are connected to me by fate, and I want to thank you all. I’ve never wanted Salim to be apart from his family.”

Salim helped Helen in landing a number of Bollywood films, which developed a strong bond between them. However, after being in an extramarital affair, Salim Khan decided to honour his relationship and got married to her in 1980. However, the step broke his family’s heart. Salim’s first wife, Salma was deeply wounded, and his kids felt the pain.

In an old media interaction with Filmfare, Salman Khan revealed that his father’s second marriage deeply wounded his mother, Salma. Salman revealed that despite the turbulent relationship, his Helen aunty had grown to be part of their family over time. Salman had also quipped that his father, Salim had good taste in women.

Salim Khan married Sushila Charak (now known as Salma Khan) in 1964. They were blessed with four children, Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Alvira khan, and Sohail Khan. The director had a love marriage with Salma, and they dated for five years before getting married.
