Popular actress, Shrenu Parikh is known for her characters, ‘Aastha Agnihotri’ in the serial, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? Ek Baar Phir and ‘Gauri Kumari Sharma’ in the hit soap, Ishqbaaaz. Currently, she is playing the titular role of televison drama, Maitree. During one such shoot of her serial, she got candid about her relationship status with Ghar Ek Mandir – Kripa Agrasen Maharaj Ki co-star, Akshay Mhatre and it’s simply unmissable.

Shrenu Parikh admits being in a relationship with Akshay Mhatre

During a promotional event in Lucknow for her latest TV show, Maitree, Shrenu Parikh opened up about her relationship status with popular actor, Akshay Mhatre. She was asked whether she is still single. To this, Shrenu promptly answered that she is in true love with her boyfriend, Akshay. Moreover, she elaborated on why they took time to make their relationship official and said:

“I am not single anymore. I am very much committed to Akshay (Mhatre). We took time to make this official because we first wanted to be sure about each other.”

For the unversed, Shrenu and Akshay met for the first time on the sets of the popular TV serial, Ghar Ek Mandir – Kripa Agrasen Maharaj Ki in August 2021. Since then, they clicked instantly and the rest is history. Further, in the same conversation, Shrenu talked about the reason for their delay in admitting their relationship. She explained that the madly-in-love duo didn’t want to disclose anything to the media, before they admitted the same in front of their parents. She added:

“Being public figures, we didn’t want anyone else to tell our parents before we do, or they read it in the newspapers and woh bole kya tum dono committed ho? So we kept it under wraps. We both were quite clear from day one that we will not go ahead with our relationship if our families don’t agree to it. Both Akshay and I are family-oriented and similar on this front.”

When Shrenu fought Covid-19 bravely

In 2020, when the entire world was fighting with the ongoing pandemic, Shrenu had also tested positive for Covid-19 virus. However, throughout her battle with the virus, she kept her spirit on and stayed strong in front of her friends and family. She had also shared a picture with her doctor on her Instagram handle and thanked everyone who was beside her in the long note.
